About the Royal Commission on Antisemitism and Social Cohesion
The Royal Commission on Antisemitism and Social Cohesion was established by the Australian Government following the antisemitic terrorist attack at Bondi Beach on 14 December 2025.
The Royal Commission is examining the nature, causes and impacts of antisemitism and failures in social cohesion in Australia, as well as the effectiveness of government, law enforcement, and security responses. It is also investigating the circumstances leading up to the Bondi attack, including security arrangements and information‑sharing between agencies.

What is the Royal Commission Legal Assistance Service (RCLAS)?
The Royal Commission Legal Assistance Service (RCLAS) provide free, confidential legal support to people who want to engage with the Royal Commission into Antisemitism and Social Cohesion (Royal Commission).
We are independent legal service that is separate to the Royal Commission.
What do we do?
We have staff across Australia - including at Legal Aid ACT - who give legal advice, legal information and referrals in a culturally appropriate and trauma informed way.
How can we help you?
We can provide free and confidential legal advice about:
engaging with the Royal Commission, including making submissions
your legal rights when sharing information with the Royal Commission
legal protections available when sharing information with the Royal Commission.
We can talk to you about how you can:
share your experiences in a safe way
keep your engagement with the Royal Commission confidential
overcome barriers you might face in sharing your experiences.
We can also connect you with services such as counselling and other legal or non-legal support to help you engage with the Royal Commission. We can also connect you with other legal services to help you resolve any other legal issues you may have.
